Find out who hosts a website

This tool puts public data together: the website’s IPs and network, any CDN, the nameservers and the incoming mail servers, to show where the site, its DNS and its email live.

Why does it say Cloudflare instead of the real host?

When a site sits behind a CDN such as Cloudflare, its public IPs belong to the CDN. The origin server is hidden behind it, so outside tools can’t see it. Only the site owner or the provider knows.

Where does the provider name come from?

From the network (ASN) that announces the IP range, using Team Cymru data, plus the nameserver and mail server (MX) names. Some companies resell servers rented from someone else, so the network name can differ from the brand that sells the hosting.

Can the website and email be in different places?

Yes. The A record decides where the website lives and the MX record decides where email is received. Many businesses host the site in one place and use email somewhere else.
